ABOUT LENORE

My campaign is based on my belief that strong communities and vibrant ecosystems nurture healthy citizens. During my years in Whitehorse, I have actively worked to make our City a better place through my involvement in community organizations and my engagement and activism. Running for Council is a natural next step.

I moved to Dawson City as a teenager, where I graduated from Robert Service School. Afterwards, I pursued my post-secondary education outside of the Yukon, in time acquiring a Bachelor of Arts, a Master of Business Administration and a Law degree. I returned to the Yukon in the summers. After many years of part-time northern living, I moved to Whitehorse permanently in January 2000. It is my chosen home.

After starting out with a local law firm, I moved to the Government of Yukon, where I worked for four years. The territorial government’s role in our community and economy is large and significant. Knowing how it functions is essential to anyone in municipal government.

In 2007 I started my own private law practice. Today, I continue to practice law, sharing an office with two other lawyers. I commute to work by bike, summer and winter. I enjoy what the City offers and its surrounding wilderness.
